Volunteer

Sioux County Conservation Board cannot express how important volunteers are. Whether it is helping out with and event, summer camp, helping in the nature center, or service projects, we truly could not do it with all your help! Training and guidance are offered prior to starting. If you would like to become a member of our Volunteer team please fill out and send in a Volunteer Application Form or call us at 712-552-3057 to set up an appointment to talk to you! We have three volunteer niches you can choose from. You are not limited to just one area!

    1. Event Volunteer: We put on several events throughout the year that would not be possible without more help. Event volunteers can help with running stations, helping with meals, registration, parking, set up and take down or just general supervision.
    2. Nature Center Volunteer: Whether you are seeking an inspiring setting in which to give back to the outdoor community; are a college student looking to fulfill internship credit hours; a senior looking to enjoy retirement; or an instructor wishing to spend a summer in a county park setting, all are invited to share their unique talents and passion for the outdoors with our park visitors. Morning, afternoon, and evening hours are available. Click here for more details.
    3. Summer Camp Volunteer: Assist our Environmental Education staff in various summer camps for ages 3 and up throughout the summer. You will help our staff with camp crafts, activities, games and be in charge of a small group of kids, typically 3-5, while we hike the various trails in the park.
