Friends of Foundation

The Friends of Foundation was started by the Sioux County Conservation Foundation in early 2021 after their first project, building the Prairie Woods Nature Center, was completed. Friends of Foundation continues to support education programming and live animal needs both indoor and outdoor at the Nature Center. They also co-sponsor events at the Nature Center including the Annual Christmas Tree Contest & Children’s Mural as well as support traveling exhibits, guest speakers and bus tours. Smaller projects have include the addition of bird feeding station, snowshoes rental, popcorn machine, children's waders and exhibit updates.

Families and individuals who are passionate about the Foundation's work can join the cause by becoming a member at one of the levels listed below.

Individual/Family $45

Woodland Conservationist $250-450

• Window decal, Exclusive Prairie Woods Nature Center T-shirt, certificate for 1 night free camping

Wildlife Conservationist $500-900

• Window decal, Exclusive Prairie Woods Nature Center T-shirt, certificate for 1 night free camping, certificate for park pass

Distinguished Conservationist $1,000+

• Window decal, Exclusive Prairie Woods Nature Center T-shirt, certificate for 1 night free camping, certificate for park pass, name in quarterly newsletter and website

Corporate Conservationist $1,000+

• Window decal, certificate for park pass, business name advertised on social media, website and newsletter.

 

Future/Current Projects

The sky is the limit! The Sioux County Conservation Foundation is always looking to provide resources for the enhancement, preservation and enjoyment of nature in Sioux County. New projects are discussed and voted on at board meetings by the current Sioux County Conservation Foundation Board Members. These meeting occur at the Prairie Woods Nature Center.
